Lineup/Lines Setup
The Lineup/Lines Setup screen allows you to determine your own line settings, or view another team's. Players can be added or removed from the current lineup by right-clicking on their name in the roster list at the top of the screen and selecting Dress/Scratch Player. Lines can be changed by dragging-and-dropping players from the roster list or from withing the lines themselves.

You have eight different categories of Lines to select:
  • Even Strength: These are the lines that are used during normal, 5-on-5 play. Use the players in the lineup at the top of the screen to fill each spot on those lines (depending on the number of players the league allows teams to have in the lineup during a game, you may not have to fill all four defensive pairs and lines. You can specify ice time for players by adjusting the target number of minutes per game (i.e., out of 60 minutes) the computer will attempt to play them, if the game were to occur entirely at even strength.
  • Penalty Kill 4 on 5: These are the lines that are used when your team is shorthanded and playing with 4 skaters against the opponents' 5. Only two forwards are selected, instead of three; their exact position isn't specified. The icetime here is set by percentage; the computer will attempt to use the lines and defensive pairs according to their time allotment when faced with this game situation.
  • Penalty Kill 3 on 5: These are the lines that are used when your team is shorthanded and playing with 3 skaters against the opponents' 5. Only one forward is selected, instead of three; his exact position isn't specified. The icetime here is set by percentage; the computer will attempt to use the lines and defensive pairs according to their time allotment when faced with this game situation.
  • Power Play 5 on 4: These are the lines that are used when your team has a power play and is playing with 5 skaters against the opponents' 4. The icetime here is set by percentage; the computer will attempt to use the lines and defensive pairs according to their time allotment when faced with this game situation.
  • Power Play 5 on 3: These are the lines that are used when your team has a power play and is playing with 5 skaters against the opponents' 3. The icetime here is set by percentage; the computer will attempt to use the lines and defensive pairs according to their time allotment when faced with this game situation.
  • 4 on 4: These are the lines that are used when both teams are shorthanded and playing with 4 skaters each. Only two forwards are selected, instead of three; their exact position isn't specified. The icetime here is set by percentage; the computer will attempt to use the lines and defensive pairs according to their time allotment when faced with this game situation.
  • 3 on 3: These are the lines that are used when both teams are shorthanded and playing with 3 skaters each. Only one forward is selected, instead of three; his exact position isn't specified. The icetime here is set by percentage; the computer will attempt to use the lines and defensive pairs according to their time allotment when faced with this game situation.
  • Extra Attackers: These two players are the first choices to be added as the 6th attacker when a goalie is pulled.
  • Goalies: These are the team's two goaltenders; G1 is the starter for the game, G2 is the backup. During the game, G1 is the goalie currently in goal, G2 is on the bench.

Action Menu

The Action Menu offers three options on this screen:

  • Clear Lines erases all the current line selections, leaving the lines blank.
  • Ask Assistant asks your computer assistant to set the lines using the current lineup.
  • AI Setup Organiztion asks your computer assistant to reset your entire organization, which may involved players being called up or sent down, dressed, or scratched.
