The Hockey News Network archives HNN stories about your game world. These can include things like preseason and playoff previews or player polls about their peers. Every league has its own archive.
The "face" of HNN is the late Jessica (Ghawi) Redfield, an aspiring hockey broadcaster and blogger who was tragically killed in the Aurora, Colorado, movie theater shooting in 2012. One of Jessica's mentors was Denver broadcaster Peter Burns, a longtime friend of us at OOTP. Through him, we offered to put Jessica in the game as a tribute to her dreams of being a professional broadcaster, and as a means of drawing attention to the Jessica Redfield Foundation, which funds scholarships to support upcoming young sports talent to study journalism. Her family graciously agreed and allowed us to use her likeness. Donations to the Jessica Redfield Scholarship Fund can be made through the San Antonio Area Foundation. |
