Trade Player(s)

The Trade Player(s) menu option (brings you to the Trade screen.

There are several ways to access this screen:

  • Navigate to League Menu >> Trade
  • Click on the clipboard icon in the League section of the Icon Bar, then click the Player Trade tab
  • Right-click on a player on another team, then go to Trade Options >> Trade for Player
  • Respond to another team's trade offer.

The Initiate Trads screen is broken into three panes:

  • A Trade Component box for each team, in the top right, where components of the trade are entered
  • Each team's Roster or list of draft picks, in the bottom section
  • A Trade Summary in the upper left that gives a summary of the trade and other pertinent information, such as your assistant's opinion on the likelihood of the other team accepting the deal.

Setting up a Trade
On the Initiate Trade page, your team's contribution to the trade is always in the top right box, and your your trading partner's in the box below it. You can place players, rights, or draft picks in each box.

You can change your trading partner by using the "Select Team" box in the Trade Info pane.

Trading Players
Add players to the trade proposal by right-clicking them from the Roster section at the bottom of the screen and selecting "add player". You can remove any player from the trade by right-clicking their name in the offer and selecting "Remove."

To switch between team views and players/rights/picks, use the selection box directly below the Trade Component box. When looking at a team, you can also specify various different views

Upon completion of a trade, each team takes on the full remainder of the current contract for each player. That is, if Player A is in the second year of a seven-year deal, the team receiving Player A is responsible for the full duration of that contract.

Trading Rights
You may also trade the rights to players you own, but don't have signed to a contract. This will transfer the ability to negotiate a contract for that player to the other team. Note that these rights only apply to your league, so teams in other leagues may also own league-specific rights to that player. Player rights are generally worth much less than contracted players, since there is no guarantee the player can be signed.

Trading Draft Picks
If draft pick trading is enabled in the league-specific trading options, each team can trade up to five draft picks in a single trade. Trading a draft pick means that you are giving the other team one of your picks in the specified draft. Draft picks can be traded for the next three drafts.

Since draft order is based on the order that teams finish in the standings, be sure to consider a team's record when proposing a draft pick trade. A high draft pick from a poor team is much more valuable than a draft pick from a championship team.

Trade Info
The top left pane on the Initiate Trade screen is the Trade Info summary. Initially, this pane will list the positional weaknesses of each team. As you build your trade, this pane will display information about your trade:

The summary will typically show some basic feedback from your assistant, who will tell you, for example, if your deal is unacceptable.

Making the Offer
To propose the trade to the other team, click on the Offer Trade button, then watch your mailbox for a response. The "Respond to Message" box will allow you to confirm the trade, if the other team agrees, or return to the trade screen for further negotiations.
