Negotiating Trades
If you have submitted a trade proposal without completing the deal right then and there, it takes a few days for your partner to consider and get back to you. There is no fixed time, although responses are typically within a week, and are often faster near the trading deadline and during Winter Meetings.

Eventually, you will receive a personal message containing your trading partner's formal response, visible from the Manager News page.

Trade-related messages like this one include an action menu in the lower right called Respond to Message. In this case, your trade proposal has been refused. The only option available in the Respond to Message menu is Discuss Trade Again, which returns you to the Initiate Trade screen to negotiate further.

When your trading partner accepts your trade proposal, the Respond to Message menu contains two additional options: Complete Trade and Reject Trade. Rejecting a trade cancels the entire trade. Completing the trade makes the deal final, and players, draft picks, and cash change hands immediately. You must complete an accepted trade within 14 days, or the trade will be automatically cancelled.

Warning! If you delete a trade proposal message or a reaction to a trade proposal message without completing the deal, the trade is canceled.

Computer-Initiated Trade Proposals
Even if you do not offer a trade, computer-controlled teams might offer trades to you out of the blue. In this case, you will receive a personal message like the one below.

Computer-initiated trades are handled very similarly to human-initiated ones. Use the Respond to Message menu to complete or reject the trade, or discuss the trade again.
