Replace with
Simulation Module

OOTP offers an additional Simulation Module. The purpose of the Simulation Module is to enable you to rapidly simulate the results of two teams playing each other. For example, you could use it in advance of a playoff series as the basis of an article you are writing on the upcoming series.

To simulate a game or series, use the following steps:

  1. Select two of the teams in the current saved game. You can match up any two teams in your world regardless of league or league level.
  2. Select the number of games you would like to simulate.
  3. Select which ballpark at which the games should be played. (Different ballparks have different factors, so this can definitely affect the outcome of your simulation.) You can choose "automatic" or the specific ballparks of either selected team. "Automatic" means OOTP will decide on its own which park to use.
  4. Choose whether or not there will be off-days during the simulation. This will impact your simulation, because the off-days will determine when pitchers can rest, etc. You can choose from none, automatic, after 2 games, after 5 games, or after 7 games. "Automatic" means OOTP will decide when off-days will occur.
  5. Click the Start Simulation button.

Once the simulation has run, you will be presented with a summary report that describes the results of your simulation:

Results include batting and pitching statistics, top performances, results of the individual simulated games, and even box scores!
