Game Universe Terminology
Before you can understand what choices to make in creating a game, it helps to know some of the terminology used in FHM.
Saved Games
A saved game is one 'universe' of hockey in FHM. A saved game could contain one league, five leagues, or more. Saved game directories end in .lg, for example, My League.lg.
Leagues
A league consists of one group of hockey teams, players, and the rules governing how that league operates. A saved game can contain one or more leagues.
Conference
A conference is a group of teams within a league.
Divisions
A division is a group of teams within a league or conference - a league does not necessarily need to use conferences in order to have divisions, they can exist without them - conferences are simply an optional organizational layer.
