The Create New Game option (Game Menu >> Basics section >> Create New Game) is used to start a new OOTP saved game. This option takes you directly into OOTP's Advanced Mode for creating new custom games. If you want to start a major league game or import a game from a prior version, it's easiest to go back to the Start Screen instead (Game Menu >> OOTP section >> Start Screen).
