Trading AI Settings
These options affect how trading is handled in your universe. Individual leagues also have other trade-related settings.
Option | Description |
Trading Difficulty | This slider controls how difficult it is to trade. The slider ranges from Easy (-5) to Hard (+5). The harder the difficulty, the more computer GM's will ask for in trades, and the less likely they will be to accept bad or lopsided deals. |
Trading Preference | This slider controls the preference computer GM's have when it comes to favoring veteran players or young prospects in trades. The slider ranges from Favor Veterans (-5) to Favor Prospects (+5). In addition to this global setting, computer GM's also value players differently based on their individual coach/personnel preferences. See Coach / Personnel Personalities and Strategies for more information. |
Hard Mode
The “Hard Mode for Trading” checkbox will adjust the trading model prohibiting the user from receiving feedback from opposing GMs while in negotiations. It will also remove the “Make This Work” option in trading requiring users to rely more on their Assistant GMs to provide feedback before submitting offers. This can be turned on or off for your league depending on what difficulty or realism you’d like to see in your league.
Reputation System
In addition to the Hard Mode option above we also have a trading reputation system that goes hand in hand with the Hard Mode. The reputation system will allow the AI to adjust their valuations of your offers based on your trading history with the AI’s team and the rest of the league. When you complete deals the reputation will generally increase enabling better feedback and results from opposing AI GMs. If you submit an offer but do not complete the trade you will receive a large negative impact on your reputation. All reputations will naturally return to average over time.
The two options above are best used in conjunction allowing you to turn on a more difficult trading experience in OOTP. The reputation system will keep you honest. Your offers will require more of your wits and the assistant GM’s feedback. This will help ensure you are not lowballing a GM too much and hurting your reputation. You will also need to be more cautious about your offers as once you submit them to the other AI GM it is final and can be accepted immediately.

Other AI Settings
- Traditional - The AI will choose lineups using traditional theory, which factors in both player ratings and L/R split ratings.
- Sabermetric (Splits Favored) - The AI will choose lineups based on Sabermetric theory, which uses exclusively L/R split data to make decisions.
