Installing on Linux
To install the game on Linux, follow these steps
- Download the game. After this step is completed, you should have a file called ootp24linuxsetup.bin saved somewhere on your computer. (We suggest you place this file in the temp directory under your user's home directory.)
- Using a terminal window, navigate to the above mentioned file and and make sure that you have execute permissions (i.e. the file is executable). If not, modify the file permissions appropriately.
- After modifying the permissions on the installer file, execute the install program by using the full path name to the installer file at the command prompt or using ./ootp24linuxsetup.bin at the command prompt from the directory containing the file ootp24linuxsetup.bin. The setup program will launch and bring you to the License Agreement screen.
- Read the License Agreement. Click the 'I Agree' radio button. You will be taken to the Installation Folder screen.
- If you want to use the default destination folder (highly recommended), you can just select the desired shortcuts you want. Click Install and skip to Step 7 below.
- If you want to change the destination folder, modify the path as appropriate, and click Install.
- The installation program will start. Sit back and relax as it completes the installation.
- When the installation completes, click the Finish button. You are ready to start enjoying some baseball goodness!
- Double-click the OOTP icon to launch the game. If you have not yet purchased a license, you can do so now, or you can play the game in demo mode. If you have already purchased a license, If you have already purchased a license, enter your license number to activate the game.
