The Almanac Options screen (Game Menu >> Current Game section >> Almanac >> Almanac Options) or (Game Menu >> Advanced section >> Setup and Options >> Almanac Options tab) allows you to enable/disable and control the functionality of OOTP's Almanac. The Almanac is disabled by default.
As long as any of the checkboxes on this screen are checked, the Almanac is enabled.
Archiving Profiles
OOTP has a LOT of reports that could potentially get included in the Almanac, and perhaps you don't want all of them. Almanac profiles customize which reports will be included in your Almanac. There are two standard profiles you can use: complete almanac (which includes all HTML reports) and box scores & game logs only (which includes only enough information for you to be able to view box scores and game logs from the completed season). To use one of these profiles, just click the Load Profile button next to the profile you wish to use.
You can also pick and choose which reports you want by clicking the Edit Profile button:
From here, you can customize which reports you wish to keep using broad categories. Use the checkboxes to select which types of reports to preserve for which of your leagues. Use the All and None buttons to clear all of the leagues for a certain type of report. There are also a few more options:
Option | Description |
Select Reports | Opens a window in which you can customize your almanac down to the individual report level. See "Customizing Profile Detail" below. |
Toggle Report Level | Toggles between two report levels: Online league reports, which excludes splits and generates fewer files overall, and Complete reports, which generates everything, but takes a lot longer to do so. |
Update person pictures if needed | Once your almanac has been generated once, this option will regenerate any faces when the almanac is generated, for example if players have gotten older or switched teams. |
Copy and upload new and changed images | This will always include any new images or those that have been changed since the last time the almanac ran. This is always a good option to turn on for the first time you run the almanac, in order to get all images to display correctly. |
Customizing Profile Detail
If the options above weren't enough, if you click on Select Reports, you can customize your almanac down to the individual report level:
Check or uncheck whichever reports you wish to preserve in your almanac, and then click Save.
Automatic Data Dump Options
The Almanac can also be used to automate the export of data files from the game:
Option | Description |
Monthly data dump to CSV file | On the first of each month, automatically export league files to .csv format. |
Monthly data dump to Access file | On the first of each month, automatically export league files to Microsoft Access format. |
Monthly data dump to MySQL file | On the first of each month, automatically export league files to MySQL format. |
Yearly data dump to CSV file | On the first of each year, automatically export league files to .csv format. |
Yearly data dump to Access file | On the first of each year, automatically export league files to Microsoft Access format. |
Yearly data dump to MySQL file | On the first of each year, automatically export league files to MySQL format. |
Each automatic data dump option also has a Profile that can be edited by clicking the Edit Profile button:
Editing Data Export Profiles
You can also customize which data files are exported by clicking on the Edit Profile button:
An export profile also contains a number of additional database options, such as replacing accents in the file with non-accented characters.
