Annual Finances

The Annual Finances screen allows you, once a year on July 1, to adjust its longer-term financial settings.

Raise/Lower Ticket Prices

This allows you to raise or lower ticket prices (which will affect attendance and revenues). Increasing prices may have a negative effect on fan happiness and loyalty, lowering them may have a positive effect.

Arena Improvements

You may be able to make improvements to the team's arena. These take effect immediately and require large one-time expenditures. Some of these options will add seating, others will convert some seating areas to a different, higher-revenue type. There are upper limits, dependent on your overall capacity, to the amount of each types of seat (regular, standing, premium, and luxury box) the arena can have.

Arena Quality

You will need to spend some money on the day-to-day maintenance on your arena, and also have the opportunity to spend a very large amount to increase your arena's overall quality. Spending no or minimal amounts may result in a decline in arena quality.

New Arena Construction

If you have managed to save a very large amount over the years, you can build a new arena. You can specify the overall capacity and the number of standing room spaces, premium seats, and luxury boxes, as well as naming the new arena. Larger arenas with more premium seats and luxury boxes will tend to have a higher quality and cost more.

Annual Budget

The annual financial settings can only be changed on July 1 (they're frozen as soon as the game is advanced a day.) Unlike the monthly settings, these are not retained from the previous year.

Wage Budget

This allows you to change the player wage budget amount the for upcoming season. Note that if you are in a league with a salary cap, you will still be limited by the cap amount, even if your budget is higher. The staff budget is derived from the wage budget amount, so changes here will affect it as well as the player budget.

Transfer Budget

If the team is in a league that allows players to be bought and sold for cash, you can increase the amount you are allowed to spend on player purchases here.

Player Development/Youth System Quality

The title of this setting will vary depending on your league; for European teams it will be "Youth System Quality" instead of Player Development. Changing the setting will increase or decrease the coaching bonus applied to the development of your players. Additionally, for European teams it will affect the quality of their Youth System. When new 13/14-year-old players are generated on July 1, the best of them will tend to go to the teams with the best youth systems. Additionally, the best older unaffiliated junior players will have an increased chance of moving to the best youth systems (this will happen on August 1.)

Strategic Marketing

This setting allows you to attempt to improve your team's fan loyalty rating (which, among other things, heavily affects fan happiness and attendance.) If you choose to spend no funds or a minimal amount, your fan loyalty may decrease.

Owner Profit-Taking

If your team is doing well, your owner may decide to retain some of your profits for himself, instead of investing them back into the team. The chances of this happening and the amount taken are heavily dependent on the owner's Financial Patience rating and the team's revenue surplus; an owner with low Financial Patience and a rich team will probably grab a very large amount of whatever you've managed to save.

AI Assistance

You may opt to have your AI assistant run the team's finances for you by choosing the Assistant option in the Team Control Settings. The AI will never attempt to build a new arena for you, though; that choice can only be initiated by you.
