Player Profile
The Player Profile itself contains all of the basic information about the player, including demographic data, health status, ratings, and some statistics. You can access the Player Profile in several ways:

  • Click on any player name on any standard gamescreen(clicking on a player name on a report will take you to the BNN Player Page)
  • Right-click on any player name and select Open Player Profile

The menus and buttons at the bottom of thescreenare described in Player Profile Common Action Menus and Buttons.

There is a lot of information on this page, so we have broken it into the following distinct sections:

Note: The above links will not work within the in-game help. However, they all simply link to sections lower in this page, so if you are reading this in-game, just scroll down to find the appropriate section!

Personal Details
The top left corner of thescreendisplays a player's Personal Details. Most of this information is determined by the game at the time a player is created, and can be edited using the Player Editor.

OptionDescription
First/Last Name The first and last name of the player.
Nickname The player's nickname. Not all players will have nicknames. Certain players, most noticeably high-profile players, will have nicknames when they arrive in the league.
Uniform Number The player's uniform number.
Height / Weight Although height and weight have no direct impact on player performance, they do affect the appearance of the player if you are using fictional pictures. Players with a higher BMI (body mass index) will appear noticeably heavier. Player weight can change over time.
Date of Birth / Age The age of a player matters primarily because of the affects of aging on the development of the player's ratings. See the section on Player Aging for more information.
City of Birth The place where a player was born. This value can have an impact on contract negotiations, since some players would prefer to play near their hometowns. It's rarely a huge factor, but it definitely is part of the equation. Not all players feel strongly about their hometowns.
Nationality The player's nationality. In general, this has little impact on the game. However, players tend to view managers of the same nationality in a slightly more positive vein. The player nationality is also a hyperlink to the Nation Profile page.
Bats / Throws The 'handedness' of a player impacts the game directly, in terms of how a player performs in certain situations.
Position This is the player's primary position. Players can be capable of playing more than one position. See Player Positions and Roles for more information.
Team The player's current team. The team name is also a hyperlink to the Team Home page.
Nationality / Local Popularity The national or local popularity rating of a player. See Player Popularity for more information.
Morale The current morale level of the player. See Player Morale for more information. You might not see this value on the screen if you have disabled player morale on the Player Options page.

Note: Player demographics such as names, nationalities, and nicknames all come from OOTP's internal database. These values can be customized on a global level within your game, for example if you want to create an all-Hispanic league.

Health Status
The bottom left pane on thescreenshows a player's Health Status by default. In the corner of this section is a link called Show Morale that switches the display in this section to the Morale Details view described below. Health Status gives general information about the player's current health and fatigue statuses. It has a few extra options when the current player is a pitcher or when the player is injured.

OptionDescription
Health Status Overall description of a player's health
Diagnosis Description of any injury the player has (see Injuries for more information)
Recovery Time The current estimate of how long the player will be injured
Performance Loss An estimate of the performance loss of the injured player, if he is day-to-day
Disabled List Status If the player is on a disabled list, the number of days remaining in the disabled list assignment.
Injury History An indicator of how durable the player is
Pitches (today through 5 days ago) How many pitches the player has thrown in the past few days
Rest Status A description of how tired the player is. The lower the percentage, the more tired the player is. Tired players are at higher risk for injury and perform at a lower level. This fact is especially true for pitchers. See Injuries for more information.

Morale Details
If you select the Show Morale link in the Health Status section, the display in the lower left corner changes to show Morale Details.

See the section on Player Morale for more details on how OOTP's morale system works. To return to the Health Status view, click the link in the top right reading Show Status.
