Player Trade Status
In OOTP, a player can be assigned to one of three different trading statuses:

  • Available - Player is available to be traded, but is not actively being auctioned off. The computer may offer you trades involving this player. By default, each player's trade status is set to Available.
  • On the Block - Player's team is actively seeking to trade this player.
  • Untouchable - Player's team will not consider any trade involving this player. Any attempt to submit a trade offer involving this player will be rejected.

There are three ways to set a player's trade status. The most common way to set a player's trade status is through the use of right-click menus. Right-click on the name of any player, and the context menu that appears will have trade options, including an option to set the player's trade status.

The second way to set a player's trade status is through the Player Trade Status sub-screen. This can be accessed by navigating to Team Menu >> Player Trade Status.

< This screen has the benefit of showing you the trade statuses of all of your players on one screen. It has separate boxes for "Players on the Trading Block" and "Untouchable Players". Any players who are not in the boxes are considered Available. Drag and drop players onto the appropriate boxes to change their trade status. To set a player back to Available status, just drag him to his current roster. For example, if a player on the trading block is on the active roster, drag him from the "Players on the Trading Block" box back to the active roster.

The third way to set trade statuses is via the Action menu at the bottom of the Player Profile page.

It's important for GMs to realize that trading status can have a definite impact on player morale. Sometimes a player will catch wind of his trade status. A player who does not want to be traded will suffer a morale hit if he learns that he is being actively shopped. Similarly, a player who has been marked as Untouchable might feel good about it.
