Team Controls

The Team Controls section of the Team + League Controls Menu offers a variety of different screens that allow you to manage your team:

Screen Description
Unsigned Draftees This screen displays all the players you have drafted recently, but have not yet signed to a contract. The signing deadline columns specifies the date by which you must make a contract offer to the player, or you will lose his rights and he'll become an unrestricted free agent.
Possible Free Agents This screen displays all the players you currently have signed to a contract, but whose contract will expire at the end of this season. It's a good idea to monitor this list regularly so you're not surpised by losing a player to free agency in July.
Trade Offer This screen opens the trading interface, allowing you to make a trade offer to another team.
Transactions This screen displays all the transactions your team has made in the current season, or, via the dropdown menu, any past season. Warning: this screen can take extremely long times to load after several seasons of play.
Free Agent Centre This screen, primarily useful in the post-July 1 offseason, displays all players who are currently free agents, any contract offers you have made to them, and any recent free agent signings in your league. A second tab, the Transfer Summary, shows a list of incoming and outgoing players from each team, to give you an idea of which squads have been strengthened or weakened during the offseason.
Finances This screen shows a wide variety of information about your team's financial situation. Of particular concern are the budget and salary cap sections (if your league has a salary cap); you'll want to be sure your team payroll complies with the limits imposed by budget and cap restrictions.
Personnel This screen shows the non-playing staff currently employed by your team and the overall coaching ratings their combined abilities bring to the team. The free agents tab shows you any currently unsigned staff that you may wish to hire for your team.
Salary Obligations This screen shows a view of the current contract structure for all of your players, a useful long-term planning tool. You can switch the view between actual salary paid or the players' cap hit.
Scouting This screen shows all the scouts you currently employ, and their current scouting assignments. If you wish, the action button can automatically assign the whole list for you, or you can do it all manually by right-clicking the scouts' names. The active scouting tab lists all players you have specifically assigned a scout to watch.
Edit This screen allows you to edit team details. Some edits are only possible in commissioner mode and/or only on July 1 (the start of a new season) or the start of the game.
