In FHM2, you're not just limited to using the default tactics. You can change them on an individual basis on the tactics screen, but if you want to use the same tactics in different games, it would get a little tedious to re-create them every time. So we allow you to create new tactical templates of your own on the templates screen, which will be loadable via the usual load template option in the main tactics screen (once you've saved them.)

Note that each template is a full set of instructions for every line and special teams unit on the team, not just for one individual line. When you load a template in the tactics menu, every line will change to the instructions contained within it - so when creating templates, make sure all the lines are set the way you want.

The editing interface is mostly identical to the standard tactics screen. You also have a new naming box on this screen, so you can set your own name for this template. Other than that, you can make changes to the zone assignments and settings as you would normally.

The Action dropdown also becomes active on this screen. This allows you several different options for managing your tactical templates:

Create New Template will give you a template with neutral settings to start from.

Save Template will save the template under its current name.

Save as new Template will save the template under a new name.

Export Template will create a .dat file in the tactic_templates folder of your save game with the template's name. This allows you to share your tactics with other users.

Import Template will allow you to load a .dat file created by the Export Template, so you can borrow successful tactics from other users.

Import Template will allow you to load a .dat file created by the Export Template, so you can borrow successful tactics from other users. Remember to save the template after importing it.

Copy From Tactic Screen will copy the tactic that's currently loaded in your main tactics screen; this can be useful if you've made some edits but decide you want to revert back to the base tactic you have loaded.
