Load Saved Game
The Load Saved Game option (OOTP Menu >> Load Saved Game) is used to load and existing saved game:

To load a game, just click on the saved game you wish to load, and then click OK. You can also double-click on a saved game to load it. In order for OOTP to load a saved game, it must be stored in the datasaved_games directory of your OOTP install. You cannot browse to another location to open a saved game.

When you click on any saved game, OOTP also displays information about the game on the right side of the window, including information about whether a backup exists for this saved game or not. If no backup exists, you should consider making a backup!

This page has several other features as well:

OptionDescription
DeleteClick on any saved game, and then click the Delete button to completely delete a saved game. There is no undo for this act, but you will be asked to confirm before proceeding. You can also delete a saved game directly from your hard drive, and typically this is faster than deleting through the game. Game files are stored in the datasaved_games directory, and each saved game is contained in a separate directory, ending in a .lg extension. For example, if your game is called MyGame, then there will be a directory called datasaved_gamesMyGame.lg. To delete the saved game, simply delete the entire MyGame.lg directory.
RenameClick on any saved game, and then click the Rename button to change the name of the saved game.
FavoritesYou can mark any saved game as a Favorite. When you do so, a section called "Favorite Saved Games" will appear at the top of the page.
Open FolderClick the Open Folder button to open the operating system folder containing the highlighted saved game's data.
Restore from BackupBegins the process of restoring a saved game from a backup.
Note: You can also rename or delete saved games directly from your hard drive. Game files are stored in the datasaved_games directory, and each saved game is contained in a separate directory, ending in a .lg extension. For example, if your game is called MyGame, then there will be a directory called datasaved_gamesMyGame.lg. To rename this game, just rename the MyGame.lg directory to something else. The game directory name must end in '.lg,' or OOTP will not recognize it as a valid game. To delete, just delete the entire .lg directory.
